Professor Gjelaj finished her Bachelor and Master studies on General Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy in University of Prishtina. During the Master studies she was asked from the department of Pedagogy to work as assistant of professor, for group of pedagogical subjects. On November, 2014 she finished her PhD studies on Preschool Education in the State University of Tirana in Abania. She works at the Department of Pedagogy as a lecturer and she’s also a Coordinator of Academic Development in the Faculty of Education.

She has published a number of manuscripts in national and international Scientific Journals. She is part of curriculum development of the study programmes in the Faculty of Education in the University of Prishtina. She is also part of relevant documents on education such as teacher’ guides on assessment, teacher competences, parents’ guide on early childhood education etc.

Professor Gjelaj is international trainer on different topics that has to do with in service teacher development.
