Lavdi Zymberi
Master of Public Administration at Illinois Institute of Technology
Ms. Zymberi graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Master of Public Administration.
She studied English Language and Literature at the University of Prishtina. She has served as an interpretor with the Ministry of Local Government Administration and on a number of high-profile EU projects supporting the Kosovo Assembly and Ministry of Finance.
During her stay in the United States, Ms. Zymberi has been involved in her instition's Student Government Association and helped to establish a student organization called the Association for Public Administration. In addition, she was the TED x IIT 2016 Speakers Committee Co-Chair.
Ms. Zymberi conducted three internships in the United States. Her first was with the IIT Center for Applied Public Management in which she helped prepare a report for the City of Peoria Combined Sewer Area problem. Her second internship was in the Village of Niles, Illinois, where she was responsible for preparing the Draft Annual Report for 2015 for the Niles Family Services Department.
Her third internship was with Kurth Lampe Worldwide as an associate where she helped with research in political science, current events, social policy, governmental policy, humanitarian causes, and marketing; event planning; media relations; and strategic communications.
In November 2015, Lavdi launched an online petition that persuaded Facebook to give users the option to list cities in Kosovo. Read her success story here.
