Kaltrina Krasniqi

Ms. Krasniqi completed her certificate in Business Entertainment at the University of California, Los Angeles extension.

She is a Prishtina-based Film Director and Media specialist working in film, television, publishing and web since 2001. She is also co-founder of both Koperativa (2001), a creative communications' agency specialized in advertising, branding & design, film & TV production, and of a popular Prishtina café-bookshop Dit’ e Nat’, which promotes film, literature and music.

In 2008, Ms. Krasniqi began working as Art Director for Rrota Creative Studio.  She graduated in studied film directing from University of Prishtina  and from Kosovo’s Institute for Journalism and Communication where she completed her MA thesis: ‘The Nation in VHS: Independent entertainment production in Kosovo 1990 -1999’, research that explored the shaping of national identity through film and television during the decade of repression in Kosovo.  Krasniqi has won awards in local and international film and TV festivals and is currently setting up a film company, Kosovo’s first production company exclusively for films and which will produce her first feature length project. She hopes the company will provide a platform where film directors, writers and other film professionals can create a more diverse image of Kosovo through cinematography. 

Last year, Kaltrina was awarded support from teh Kosovo Cinematography Center (KCC) for the film she direced, "Vera e andrron detin" [Vera dreams of the sea]. Read her success story here
