TLP-SP Scholar First Kosovar Certified in 360 Feedback Evaluation
Last summer, Florentina Dushi, a budding young entrepreneur, packed her bags and flew to San Diego for what became a life-changing certification program in 360-Evaluation. Florentina is one of 102 TLP-SP scholars who have won scholarships to pursue short, intensive professional certificate programs at higher education institutions in the United States.
Florentina’s program at the Center for Creative Leadership in San Diego was on 360° feedback evaluations and coaching. “With 360° feedback, everyone gets to review everyone within an organization – and this gives clearer feedback and drives higher-performance,” she explained. With her new certification, Florentina will now implement this innovative way of capturing workplace performance and knowledge to medium and large enterprises in Kosovo.
As co-founder of an HR consultancy organization called Business Development Group, she expects the certification to increase her clientele, both in the region and beyond. “An international certification like this is very important in our industry because it’s important that our service offerings meet official global standards,” she explained. “This is what differentiates us from competitors.”
Implementing 360° feedback evaluations in Kosovo will bring its own benefits for the workforce and business development. As Florentina explained, the instrument allows a company to capture its opportunities and understand its weaknesses. “It also creates an open culture in the workspace. This way, managers can now understand how their employees think about them as well’.
A second component to Florentina’s program was one-on-one executive coaching with a mentor. “My coaching mentor had a lot of experience in strategic development,” she said. “And this directly translated to me rethinking our long-term goals for our company.”
“For me, the whole experience was very good. When applying, I asked for a very specific certificate program – and that is exactly what I received. My entire communication with the World Learning team was great.”
Business Development Group offers business solutions in human resources, coaching, and recruiting, and provides tailor-made trainings to businesses.
The Transformational Leadership Program - Scholarships and Partnerships (TLP-SP) is a partnership co-funded by USAID-Kosovo and the Government of Kosovo and administered by World Learning. The project, launched on February 24, 2014, will develop a cadre of leaders and equip the abilities of other Kosovars to drive change in priority economic, political, and social areas in Kosovo.
