In 2015, TLP-SP announced the second cohort of Master’s Degree scholarship winners. Thirty five of the students are women, and forty-nine are men.
Two of the winners come from the Bosnian community, and two more come from the Serbian community.
The three most popular chosen areas of study for this cohort were Business Management (22), Public Administration (15) and Engineering (11).
During the course of the year, the 84 students received their program placements at US universities and participated in a Pre-Departure Orientation, before heading across the Atlantic to begin their Master studies by September 2015.
The team conducted extensive outreach activities for recruiting participants for the third and final call of Master’s Degree scholarships during the summer period. Thirty-one informative sessions were conducted across Kosovo, culminating in an estimated 560+ interested participants attending the sessions.
Information Sessions were complemented by various television appearances, social media campaigns, and paper and online advertisements.As a result, a record number of 450+ applications was received for the third and final call for applications to the Master’s Degree scholarships.
Applicants to the third cohort underwent the reading stage, a plagiarism check, interviews and standardized testing. The Master’s Degree scholarship winners will be announced in early 2016.
In parallel to the Master’s Degree program, throughout 2015, Professional Certificate scholarship winners have been continuously placed at US programs, have undergone Pre-Departure Orientations in smaller groups and have departed for their studies.25 Professional Certificate Candidates have completed their programs in the US and returned to Kosovo.
Similar extensive outreach efforts were also made during September and October 2015 for the second cohort of Professional Certificate Scholarships. During a four-week period, our team conducted 29 informative sessions and reached out to over 470 participants.
Over 240 applications were received by the application deadline. The applicants for the Professional Certificate program also underwent the reading stage, a plagiarism check and interviews. Standardized testing is scheduled for January 2016.See what our brilliant students did in 2015

A formal structure of Advisory Committee has been established. The Strategy and Operating Principles were finalized during the 2015. The following three sub-committees were established:

In 2015 TLP – SP established 4 partnerships between the University of Prishtina and four US Universities. These four US Universities include: Arizona State University, Dartmouth College, Indiana University and University of Minnesota.8 Professors from University of Prishtina Faculties have visited the US.
Three administrators from University of Pristina’s Faculty of Education (UP/FE) visited Indiana University -Bloomington from October 20-31, 2015. The FE administrators had the opportunity to meet with IU School of Education administrators and faculty to discuss teacher education, trends and issues in pre-service and in-service education, and support structures for faculty research and development.

Dartmouth’s work is focused on modeling active and experiential learning techniques. Professor Stephen Powell held a workshop on Active and Experiential Learning with 12 UP professors at Faculty of Economics. Tuck School of Business is renowned for their active and experiential learning approach and was brought in as a sub-grantee to transfer some of that ability to UP’s FE.
A team of six students from Dartmouth College held a one-day workshop with UP students on how to apply for job positions and prepare for job interviews. A mock job interview was also part of the Workshop Agenda.
