Graduate Certificate in Conservation Ecology at Indiana University
Mr. Xerxa completed his certificate in conservation ecology at Indiana University. He is a Ph.D. Candidate in Ecology and Biology of Organisms. He has contributed to projects and publications by UNDP Kosovo in the area of sustainable development and conservation of biodiversity, and his work in a the certificate program in the Graduate Certificate Program in Conservation Ecology helped in the collection of data and specimens, as well as with the analysis of the data in the research process. Furthermore, Kosovo is facing an enormous challenge in environmental pollution - especially in water pollution - and since environmental policies are considered to be the most complex and costly to be fully transposed into national policies through the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), Mr. Xerxa feels that protection, conservation and monitoring of water quality is one of the main environmental challenges facing his country.
